getting ready for family picture
Salam Raya to all.
Yesterday. Ist raya, was a memorable day. MsHart and MrS slept late the raya night. Ms Hart cooked special Raya dishes (ayam bali, rendang, lontong, sambal udang, trifle)and all by herself. Superwoman!!!. Of course, MrS helped her. We woke up early that morning. But nowadays the raya morning is quiet compared to those of yesteryears. In those days, the neighbours and children, whoever they were, came a knocking or a 'salaming' very early in the wee morning, in fact minutes before the subuh prayers. We,in the house, would quickly wake up before they arrived. The children would salam, greet , in exchanged for 'duit' raya (in shillings). No 'ang pow' packets. But nowadays, there were no early visits (they will come later) The seniors would give away some cash in angpow packets instead of shillings. We then went to the mosque for the solat sunat raya. We too paid our respect to our late mak, bapak and kak long by visiting their grave.
Selamat Hari Raya....
The day was a bit windy and cold. Yours truly was down with a bad cold, runny nose, and sneezing. I was in bed most of the time. That was the ist day, a day to be remembered.
