Dried flowers

Hello! I have been been keeping this for a long time, should I get rid of them or keep for sweet remembrance. See, about 5 years ago I received a bouquet of fresh red roses, like the pic above, from a parent in conjunction of my retirement. The flowers, still in same wrappers, are now dry but the petals, leaves are still intact! No dust at all!!

What did I do?

Hung the bouquet upside down when the flowers were still fresh

And it (the bouquet)had been hanging at the room partition for these 5 years. Now, should I keep it? Throw? I was about to, but then, the flowers,.....sayanglah, seems to say 'pity me'. So,

Here's where the roses are now

And I love these two frames of dried flowers....Anyway, talking about attachment, sentimental, sayang etc you won't throw any at all.

Time out

Hi, sedang 'singgah-singgah rumah orang' tadi..nothing to do, somebody called.

She: Free ke, jom keluar lunch.
Me: Eh you kerja tau, mana boleh keluar.

She: Time out, lagi pun I nak cari toys for the kids.

FKM ajak lunch. Maklumlah orang kerja boleh lah belanja kita ni. Ok lah. So went to MMall. Sambil-sambil nak ke P***a H*t, buat dulu window shopping, lalu tersinggah di sini, butik kerongsang
. You have all sorts of brooches/pins and other accessories, scarves. They provide services like gaya ikat tudung, repair kerongsang. So kita cuba-cuba lah, just try only, jangan marah ye.

Had nice lunch @ PH. Sembang-sembang juga pasal AJL, yalah kritik-kritik tambahan. Then cari lah toys. Punya kedai besar macam tu, tak ada choice seperti yang dikehendaki. So sent FKM balik ke 'sekolah' dia. She's lucky, tak pandai drive, tapi transport mudah.

FKM: Next time kita celebrate bigger scale ye. Kan kita nak capai umur keramat tu.
Me : No problem, Doa panjang umur, murah rezeki dan badan sihat. Insya Allah next time. Eh,bila nak bersara?

What a Wonderful World

Hello orang di sana! Do you know this song? I love it. Sung by no other than Louis Armstrong

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
I see a tree of green, red roses too,
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white,
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colours of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by,
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more than I'll never know.
And I think to myself what a wonderful world,
Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Yes, Syukur Alhamdullillah kepada nikmat yang Allah beri.

Frust betul BOB tak dapat vokal terbaik AJL baru-baru ni....

Somewhere?

Good evening there! Well in last posting, JY decided to bring me somewhere right. At 3.00pm we drove to this place, CENEH, a small town in Trengganu along the Jabor - K.Trengganu road. It has a resort where we used to bring our trainees for outdoor education and bina semangat course, once upon a time. After 45 mins drive, we arrived and had nasi ayam (not nice, said someone)@ the warung makan (named KLCC) I bought 3 paus, (not whale tau, but kuih pauh!)very soft, gebu, filling and tasty. To go the resort you have to turn into a narrow lane not far from the main road but ALAS! where's the resort? CRR is now a Pusat LBN. No entry. Punyanya hampa. Nak ambil gambar entrance pun tak ada hati, very unkept. But here is a nice view...

Now nak ke mana? Cukai, Kemaman. So another 30 mins passing small villages, still in Trengganu.
Me: Kita ke tempat buat keropok. (tujuan nak ambil gambarlah)
Hi : Along the way to Kuantan, ada banyak stalls keropok lekor.

Me: Sigh!
So we just passed the town, quite busy, balik office, mah.

Tak singgah pun kat stalls keropok, sebab tak de intention nak beli
.

Lalu di Cerating, very busy highway, with lorries and fast driving cars. Uggh! Dah masuk Pahang. Many resort hotels, some familiar .
Diverted to Pantai Cerating (and the South China Sea.)
BUT
the one that attracted my attention.....

jest for laugh!

Arrived Sekilau @ 6.15. Itu ceritanya hari ni, the somewhere over the rainbow thing.
JY keluar beli dinner jap...bawa balik satay, sata, and ,forgot the name, oh yes, pulut panggang and also pais ikan (not otak-otak like melaka punya). Sedapnya.
Sorry, saja change size font, nak gempak...

A new day

Him: Siap lah.

Also got rendang tok, ayam masak merah etc. i ate lite-lite, just fried mee hun and aur suam. Then went to market, beli chicken wings (lagi) nak goreng lah tu. JY bot some kuih and pisang (kalau tak habis boleh buat jemput-jemput). Balik, rest kejap baca paper n magazine. Then, i buat fried ubi kayu. Ada ubi kayu rebus, tak habis, goreng. Kemudian cuci chicken wings, perap kejap dengan garam kunyit. Ada sayur sawi nak buat tumis air, siapkan perencah. Rest. Sempat blog hopping kejap, layarlah blog-blog orang kampung, kot-kot got new story to tell. None, hampa! About noon, pasang apron, goreng kepak ayam, tumis sayur, cooked rice, kemas dapur etc. Lay table for lunch. Then makan time. Slow je, cause no sambal belacan. "I think i can take sambal now" heard somebody mumbling. I kept quiet. Then cuci pulak pinggan mangkuk. Mop lantai, dah kemas semuanya. Solat. Layar TV jap. No good programe. Tak best. So blog hopping again, singgah sana sini, still no new entry from BC. So here i am, buat posting, just to tell you, nothing new..biasa je. Frustnya

Hello! It's the time to pay Cukai Pintu and Cukai Tanah. Cukai Tanah bayar dah dan for early payment, the land office gave small note pad as token. Terima kasih ye. Then Cukai Pintu MPK (1st half year assessment) We can pay this assessment at various places indicated by MPK at the back of the bill. One is G***t Hypermart. So after writing out the cheque, yours truly gi lahke G***t. 1st time bayar di sana. Sampai-sampai counter rupanya buka 6.00pm on Fridays. Only on Sat and Sun @ 10 am. Punyanya frust. Tak tahu pun (dan tak tanya). Not stated anywhere in the panduan. So nak hilangkan rasa frust tu, masuklah ke mart. Belilah sikit, (tho no intention) janji not more than RM50.00. Then beli Sc***l slippers and lunch. Dua ni perlu. Anyway, whilst there met two people from Jengka Pusat. One former Form 6 student,(now a father) doing part time job @ G****t, Dia tegur cik gu nya dulu. "Cik gu Pengetua JP dulukan? Cik gu memang tak kenal saya". Sorry ye but thank you for recognizing me. So exchanged news. Another one was a former penghulu @ JP. Ai saymen, yours truly could not recognize him too. He got a lot of cerita one. So maaf again and terima kasih, tok. So, that's it. Jengka Pusat bawa kenangan. Then, while driving home, terfikir why not pay my assessment di Pejabat Pos je lah. So singgahlah di Pejabat Pos. Tiba turn, adik di counter kata, could not accept cause the cheque should be addressed to Pejabat Pos not MPK, unless we pay @ MPK. Frust lagi. This too is not stated. Since I was @ the post office and I had an envelope, I bought some 30sen stamp, and mailed my assessment to MPK. Habis cerita.

Note: My first intention was to pay through mail. But i didn't have any stamp.

Syukur

Hi there! Syukur, telinga adik selamat dibuat pembedahan, time taken 4 hours. Mujurlah dapat dikesan segera kesakitan telinga adik. Kata doktor virus telah lama 'bermain-main' dalam telinga. Bersabar Mayamin Suffya, jangan marah-marah (grumpy sikit),merengek, maklumlah sakit. Nak cepat sembuh, tak? Kata nak jadi doktor bila dewasa nanti. So must be brave, ok. Tu foto dia terlantar ditemani ibu tersayang.

Adik

Hello! Gi visit Adik (Mayamin Suffya) warded di Kuantan Specialist Centre di Kuantan Garden. Her left ear swollen, inside outside. Esok, Rabu, nak operate, nak betulkan keadaan. Adik takut. I bought her buku Fairy Tales like Nek Ngah cakap tulah, children suka cerita berangan-angan ni, happily ever after stories. Adik said dia suka cerita Thumbellina. So I showed her how to use the content to look for her favourite stories.Take care Adik, semoga adik segera sembuh dan boleh ke sekolah semula.

Thank you Pn.Hjh

One day,,Thumbellina..........
So, children @ home, please be careful when you play, o.k. No tepuk tampar, nanti jadi macan Adik, siapa yang susah? Sila jawab.......

Update: Tok Lang nampak dah ok. Gi main tennis, macam biasa. Tapi food kena jaga. Alhamdullillah.

Control diet

Hi there! JY complained of "sebu'' "senak" masuk angin, perut kembung . Tok,tok tok, bunyi perut bila dijentik. Urut dengan pati halia lah, dengan minyak Yu Yee lah. Angin tak keluar. Kita yang urut pula sendawa. Tak hilang juga. Minum teh halia. Pun angin remained. Murung je dua tiga hari. Pn Z phamarcist yang biasa menjadi rujukan berilah medication yang sesuai. Adalah kurang nampaknya. Ajak ke klinik/GH for further check up and confirmation of pain, sorry, no way. Nanti kena tahan, lemas. Jadi, jaga diet. So makan bubur nasi ajelah. Bubur nasi Cik Mgi tulah, perasa sayur, perasa ayam. ( bubur nasi not for me!) Then, main dish, yang kesukaan budak-budak di BC tu, apa lagi kalau bukan ayam goreng. Plain simple kan. Perap ayam dengan bumbu bawang, halia, kunyit, nah goreng. Sedap makan dengan nasi atau begitu saja kan Amal? Sayur? Tumis air je. Ada ikan kering goreng. No more sambal belacan cili padi, please, biji cili tulah yang tersangkut kat usus perut tu. Kurangkan minum teh tarik. So now minum kopi pulak. Nampak segar sudah, dah macam biasa. Alhamdullillah. Serasi medication Pn. Z. Tadi dah makan nasi, masak lembut, and fried chicken wings.

JY : Sambal belacan ada?
Me: No way. (sampai bila ah?)
JY: Dah tua ni, sistem immune kita pun problem.
Me: Sigh

Up date: The most happening in kuantan: Carrefour ada di sini, sini, end of April 08 @ the new mall.

The singing family

Hi there! Talking about singing. Learned that Missy was chosen as a member of her school choir.Congatulations, at last you made it, Missy. MIssy loves singing. She'll sing whenever she feels like it. Most of the time she'll sing in the bathroom (suara sedap lagi dalam bathroom? ). She'll sing like Annuar Zain (Lelaki Ini), Adibah Noor (Kau yang Teristemewa), Ning (Awan yang Terpilu) ....you know the soprano voice, nyanyi from the perut. At times she made me on my nerve. Ai yah. Told her off, "Perlahankan suara sikit boleh tak? Orang sebelah boleh dengar" She 'll sing to her favourite songs (and dance as well) Once, she took part in a Karaoke Comp. She sang 'Pudar" by Rossa and she won. She even participated in a Jom Heboh session, dancing on stage with Dinah (Mau tapi Malu). Lepas geram lah. She likes watching the vocal classes of AF conducted by Cg Siti Hajar or Cg Safi. In fact all of us like to watch AF, even the replay @ CH15/115.Jangan marah ah. At home, we are often 'entertained' with a mini 'concert'. Missy, together with her siblings, little princess Amal and handsome king Iddin, will sing and dance to High School Musical (HSM) songs. Oh, at times there'll be perang saudara. Perebutan CD and remote control .Iddin will play over and over again his favourite song, one of the songs in HSM, annoying his sister. "Iddin, janganlah, nanti CD rosak. Kak Iman beli mahal tau CD tu! Rosak Iddin ganti!" See ,she treasures her property (esp CDs). And Iddin will later hide the CD and remote somewhere that he only knows where (he's good in hiding things). Iddin likes singing too, buka mulut, ikut lirik, just the sound pun jadi but melody ok. And he can remember the words, mind you, like some songs from the theater "Puteri Gunung Ledang - The Musical." Not only singing but action too, can be Sultan Melaka(Adlin) or AC Mizal, growling! We are really amused. He's really an entertainer, makes us laugh. I love you funny Iddin. He even remember the number of the track in the CD. "Nek Lang number 8" or "Not that one lah,I say No 11" etc. Then Princess Amal. She too can sing (but through the nose) songs from "Love is CINTA" , My Heart, or 'Pencinta Wanita". So comel. Hear her sing the theme song for Cuti Singapura. Cutenya dia. Daddy would request "Mal, please sing that Singapore song." Amal obliged and sweetly she sang, no mistake at all. The trios really have musical talent, hai, dapat dari Bapak Sor and Ibu Har lah tu. And together Missy, Princess, King will sing happily in the car together with mummy and daddy (the von trapp family?) My sis and I love and enjoy singing too. Whenever on trips, local or abroad, following rombongan Cik Kiah, we'll be given the mic to entertain the other members in the bus. The top entertainer will be Kak N lah (together with some of her friends) me, back up je. Our songs will be the oldies, the klasik nasional type. Siapa lagi nak nyanyi! Once in Bali, we sang with the residence artist that night to his delight. Then in Palembang we went on stage to sing "Kopi Dang Dut". In Puncak, we had a karaoke session. And did we really sing. Back home, my sis is a member of her Hadrah group. Last Raya we went 'hadrah ing' to some invited houses. Though I'm not a member, I tagged (actually my sis pulled me lah) along for the sake of 'throwing' out my voice in the Raya spirit. I really enjoyed the sessions. See, during my younger days, I was a fan (and still is)of Ray Coniff Singers. I collected quite a number of their LPs (that time, no CDs yet) but now, allthe cds gone missing. Misplaced ?And It's hard to get Ray Coniff CDs nowadays and if there's any, it's quite costly. During my school days we had MUSIC lesson which I looked forward to. Miss Tan (the music teacher) taught us the warming up exercie "Do re mi....., A,,a...a.." When I was in SMKTA, I asked the school choir to be revived and encouraged musical and singing activites in school.
So singing is in the family@BC, isn't it? I believe singing or even listening to songs will lighten your heart and brighten your day.
"Sing..... sing a song........make you happy......."
Mari kta enjoy....

Just want to sing

Hello there, want to sing with me?
(lyrics adapted from the song "Takanang jo Kampung" famous Indonesian song)

Part of house@BC some time ago

Kampung ku jauh di mata
Bukit China sekeliling
Terkenang kawan-kawan lama
Tempat menjeling-jeling

Penduduknya yang elok
Yang suka bergotong royong
Kalau susah sama-sama dirasa
Ku terkenang ke kampung.

Terkenang, ke kampung
Semuanya di rumah Bukit China
Rasa memanggil-manggil ku pulang
Ku terkenang ke kampung.

(Hai orang di rumah BC, Cuma masa menentukan ku pulang)

Iman used to SMS me " Nek Lang, what are you doing?"
Well,
Heavy, heavy rain here since early morning,
Me, nibbling Mister Potato while typing and blog hopping,
Tennis, Australian Open, Yours faithfully watching.
Exciting! Positive thinking!
Boring? Well, continue reading
As I was passing......

Sungai Kuantan

Hello there! If Melaka is proud for her 'modern' Sungai Melaka, Kuantan has Sungai Kuantan.
K-U-A-N-T-A-N stands tall in the 'bakau' swamp

A fishing boat tugging to the South China Sea (more following)

Before, ferries cross the river, but now.....Kuantan Bridge linking town to Tanjung Lumpur, a fishing village

Pedestrian walk along the river (but cycling is not allowed!)

A senior citizen reading , young men chit chatting, subject:fishing

An old Muslim burial ground was here, now children's playground!
Cool and calm wih palm trees in a row

More shady trees

Lonely bench. Care to sit?

They have river cruise too : Menyusur Sungai Kuantan. That will be next time!

Hello there!

Whose fingers are these?

Who are you?

Come girl, don't be shy

Ok lah, I give up! Hi, they call me Adik..

Yes, Mayamin Suffya binti Mohamed Azlan a.k.a. Adik was born in the year I was posted to SMK Tengku Afzan Kuantan, 1998. She'll be 10 this year. That means 10 years ago I was in SMKTA, imagine that. Time flies that fast. But I did'nt feel it, did'nt realise it. Still going strong esp at heart. But Adik reminds me the first year I was in Afzan.I remember when Adik was a baby, her mother, the teacher-in-charge of the school hockey team, had to bring her along during tournament, once to Kota Baru, that far, because she had to feed her. Perhaps because of that, Adik is an active girl like her mother, Pn.Norehan, the house on the hill lady(Mee Calong). At times, she shy-shy cat, malu tapi mau.So I've got a little friend on the hill who calls me Pn Hjh, respect oh and who will always remind me of Afzan.
And of course, my Miss Cax is also 10 years old. Some questions asked: "Don't want to change car, ah ?" "Cik gu tukar keretalah, sudah lama, spare part ada ke?" "Mama, tanya Pengetua, nak jual kere
ta tak. Sukalah kereta tu." No way will I trade in my car to a new one as said my mechanic back home "you just take care of the car. The condition is still good. Maintain it, Why must you get new one if it does'nt give you any trouble ." Yes lah Mr Ng . But don't charge so highlah when i send it for servising. Yours faithfully takes care of the car too: washing, polishing, taking care of the engine, maintaining the pressure of the tyres, changing the door lock to a better one, etc. The children @ home like Miss Cax, before they got the new family carlah. Getting into the car was a little exercise to them. They had to struggle, climbing up.They asked why you drive big car? Nek Ngah's car , small.
My Miss Cax, the grand lady!

During my years at Afzan, there were 3 other ladies HM who drive the same model. And now in their retirement years, I see them still driving Vitara Suzuki. I looooove you Miss Cax !
Must ask the coming museum curator @ BC: Can you consider this car antique?

Fruits for you

Hi, there! I don't know why I like to take pictures of fruits, flowers, plants. Maybe they are photogenic. Colours, perhaps. Mind therapy? Or the lighting make the display cheerful as in this fruit shop. I passed this shop on my way to the post office this morn. Couldn't get my eyes off them, distracted by the colours. So I stopped by. Request to take pictures granted. The fruits are orderly arranged on the rack or in boxes or in small plastic trays neatly wrapped. Found out that most of the fruits sold here are imported.(Note: I had also taken pics of local fruits sold in the wet market). The sooo expensive ones are in the fridge. This shop is a favourite too for custom-made hampers, mainly fruits in a basket. (pic above and down below)
Did I hear somebody said "Elei, aku pun boleh buat macam tu, tak payah suruh kedai!"
I bought a dragon fruit (didn't bring enough money maa!1 kg RM6.00+). Vietnam mali lor. And that's because somebody has not tasted dragon fruit before.

cut dragon fruit, so juicy.....

Also want to kongsi with you from Abie Abdullah in his zonAbie (HM 12 Januari 2008) " Bila Allah cepat makbulkan doamu maka Dia menyayangimu, bila Dia lambat makbulkan doamu, maka Dia ingin mengujimu, bila Dia tidak makbulkan doamu, maka Dia merancang sesuatu yang lebih baik untukmu. Kerana kasih sayang Allah itu mendahului kemurkaanNya."

Got it? InsyaAllah.
